Foley & Lardner LLP senior counsel Betsy Stone was featured in Law.com as a Next Generation of Leaders at the 2026 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards.
Stone, featured here, describes herself as “the kid who always wanted to be a lawyer,” sharing that she felt a strong pull to return to Milwaukee after law school, the community that raised her, to build her legal career.
Stone has “advised Fortune 500 clients in headline-grabbing commercial and environmental disputes, second-chaired a five-week trial, led teams in nine-figure cases, and became a go-to PFAS and manufacturing litigator trusted by C-suite leaders.”
Despite the demands of her practice, Stone prides herself on “staying rooted in service,” devoting herself to “representing vulnerable clients, mentoring women, supporting local nonprofits, and helping strengthen the next generation of leaders in Milwaukee and beyond.”
On leadership advice for rising attorneys, she said that “authenticity ‘not polish, not perfection’ draws others in and makes leaders worth following.”
