Foley Welcomes International Arbitration Partner Christina Beharry in Washington, D.C.
Beharry adds significant depth to the firm’s cross-border dispute capabilities
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Christina Beharry has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C., office as a partner in its International Arbitration Practice Group. Beharry brings more than two decades of experience in investor-state arbitration and complex cross-border disputes, further enhancing the firm’s global arbitration platform.
Beharry joins the firm from Foley Hoag, where she served as partner-in-charge of the Washington, D.C., office. She represents sovereign states and state-owned entities in high-stakes international disputes and public international law matters, including investor-state arbitration, state-to-state disputes, and international commercial arbitration, involving complex damages and valuation issues.

Beharry’s work spans disputes across Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and Latin America involving a wide range of industries such as energy, financial services, health care, telecommunications, hospitality, agriculture, forestry, mining, and oil and gas. She also advises on international matters involving reparations, economic sanctions, maritime delimitations, treaty interpretation, human rights, and international environmental law. She has represented clients before international tribunals and arbitral institutions, including the International Court of Justice, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to entering private practice, Beharry served as counsel in the Trade Law Bureau of the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, representing the Government of Canada in investor-state disputes and assisting with the negotiation of bilateral investment treaties.

Beharry’s arrival continues the strategic expansion of Foley’s Washington, D.C., office and its national litigation platform, following the recent additions of partners Cathryn Le Regulski in Washington and Travis Jang-Busby in San Diego.
