Louis Lehot and Andre Thiollier Discuss AI, Corporate Law, and Career Development
Foley & Lardner LLP partners Louis Lehot and Andre Thiollier joined the Corporate Law Lab podcast episode, “From Garage to Global: AI, Crisis Counsel and the Future of Corporate Law,” to discuss international careers, emerging companies, and the evolving practice of corporate law.
Lehot and Thiollier share their approaches to cross-border transactions, client service, emerging company representation, and strategic business counseling in a rapidly changing marketplace. The discussion also explored how AI is transforming the legal profession, while emphasizing the sustained value of sound judgment, practical experience, and strong client relationships.
“I think the challenge for young lawyers coming up is to do two things. One is to be master of the technology — how to use it — and two is how to communicate with real humans,” Lehot shared. “It’s really important to be in the office as much as you can and to have human-to-human interactions.”
Thiollier added that “AI gives you kind of a straight shot out and a really quick answer, right? It’s the path of least resistance for you to get from point A to B. In our minds, though, it doesn’t work that way. You have to build block by block, and that’s how we get educated and learn.”
