David Cabrales Quoted on Data Center Development Trends in Texas
Foley & Lardner LLP of counsel David Cabrales was quoted in an Energy Intelligence article, “US Data Center Backlash Captures Republican Candidates,” on the policy discussions surrounding data center development.
Cabrales noted that the policymakers “short-term reaction” in Texas is being driven by concerns from rural communities about the pace of data center development and their inability to regulate “the manner in which they come to town and the way they’re going to obtain their power, and how they’re going to cool their servers.”
He also observed that as developers “begin to tell a better story within the state of Texas, we may see an inflection point after November” and “more progress being made to bring some data centers on line.”
