Foley Advises Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club Members in Turnover of Club Control and Acquisition of Associated Marina, Utility and Employee Housing
Foley & Lardner LLP advised the members of Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club, The Bahamas’ most exclusive members-only community, in the turnover of control of the Club to member control and the acquisition of the marina, utility and employee housing assets supporting the Club’s operations.
Set on Great Guana Cay between the Sea of Abaco and the Atlantic Ocean, Baker’s Bay combines luxury residences, unparalleled amenities, outdoor adventures, and outstanding service in a relaxed private-club setting. The luxurious, secluded island retreat features a Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole golf course, over six miles of majestic beachfront, a family beach club, world-class spa and wellness facilities, and a 33-acre, 200-slip, full-service deep-water marina.
The turnover to member control is designed to support long-term operational continuity while preserving the distinctive experience and amenities that define the Baker’s Bay community. As part of the transaction, the members also acquired the club’s marina, utility plant, and employee housing facilities. Developed by Farallon Capital Management LLC and Discovery Land Company, Baker’s Bay continues to be managed by Discovery Land Company.
The Foley team was led by partners Tommy Little and Allison McKown and associate Samantha Duran.
