Public Affairs Director Craig Chick was quoted in a Flyover Coalition article, “A Very Curious Thing Is Happening in Austin, Texas,” about the changing political climate in Texas’ state capital.
Chick said the “most frustrating thing” about Austin are the people who come there for its low-regulation environment and minimum tax requirements, but then want to fund all sorts of social justice programs. That is best illustrated by the city’s growing population of homeless people and the city government’s willingness to accommodate them, he said.
“In Austin, they’ve allowed the homeless people to camp virtually anywhere, like in San Francisco, Seattle and Portland,” he said. “That has significantly changed the landscape of the city of Austin.”
