Foley Partner Michael Blau was quoted in an article that appeared in Oncology Times on August 25, 2010 titled “Preserving Private Practice by Collaborating with Hospitals.” Blau discusses collaborations between private practice oncologists and hospitals, stating that many private practice physicians are successful small business owners who have grown their own practices and do not want to give them up. He adds that a professional services agreement is perhaps the most economically advantageous arrangement for a physician to enter, noting that the physician will still make the same amount of money even if reimbursement rates decline.
