Overview

Katlin C. Cravatta is a senior counsel and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. He has represented individuals, private and public corporations, and government entities in a variety of matters throughout the United States. He is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Construction Practices.

Mr. Cravatta was a summer associate with Foley in 2013. Prior to joining Foley, he was a summer law clerk in the Civil Litigation Division of the Florida Office of the Attorney General.

Representative Experience

  • Represented the state of Florida in an equitable apportionment action before the United States Supreme Court in Florida v. Georgia, No. 142, Original
  • Secured a judgment in the principal amount of $1,530,000 for NYSE-listed media company in Florida-based litigation
  • Successfully obtained dismissal of claims against one of the nation’s largest medical imaging providers in Florida-based litigation
  • Secured a $1,000,000 JAMS arbitral award against a software developer
  • Represented owners and developers in many facets of construction litigation, including licensing matters, lien claim litigation, and delay claims
  • Represented condominium developers in defense of various defect and association funding claims
  • Represented manufacturers and others in an array of product liability matters, including defect and warranty litigation
  • Represented banks, servicers, and financial institutions in commercial foreclosure litigation

Education

Mr. Cravatta graduated from William & Mary Law School, where he was elected to the Order of the Barristers. He served as the managing editor of the William & Mary Law Review and was a member of the William & Mary Appellate and Supreme Court Clinic. Additionally, Mr. Cravatta competed as part of the William & Mary Moot Court team, winning a Best Brief award in a national competition.

Mr. Cravatta earned his bachelor’s degree, with honors, in political science from the University of Central Florida, where he was a member of the Burnett Honors College.

Mr. Cravatta is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
