Nicholas (Nick) Covek is a member of the Litigation Department and part of our Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His experience includes advising and representing clients in contract disputes, distribution and franchising litigation, and international compliance.
Nick is an active member of the firm’s Sports & Entertainment Group, having represented professional sports teams in contract disputes and salary arbitration proceedings. He has also written and published articles regarding sports betting and name, image, and likeness (NIL) issues for college athletes.
Nick’s pro bono work includes representing incarcerated individuals bringing Eighth Amendment deliberate indifference claims. He has also assisted on projects focused on racial and gender equity and local policing reform.
Prior to joining Foley, Nick attended Cornell Law School where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. He was also a member of Cornell’s Capital Punishment Clinic, advocating on behalf of clients serving capital sentences. He gained experience on a wide array of litigation matters as part of a practicum with the New York Attorney General Office.
