Foley Partner Jeffery Atkin was quoted in an article that appeared in the April 2011 issue of Sun & Wind Energy titled “Investors favour PV over CSP.” Atkin discusses investors’ growing preference for photovoltaic power (PV) over concentrated solar power (CSP), stating that some investors think PV is more trustworthy than CSP projects, which were among the biggest victims of the credit crisis. He adds that PV has become a hot technology for both venture-capital investments and for long-term financing within the past six to 12 months, noting that the number of utility-scale PV plants in the US is expected to double or triple in 2011.
