Foley Adds Experienced Labor and Employment Attorney Kamran Mirrafati in San Francisco and Los Angeles
05 June 2014
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Kamran Mirrafati has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice as a partner in the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
Mirrafati has extensive experience in labor and employment law with a focus on management-side labor relations, including labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, representation proceedings and Section 301 cases. Mirrafati provides counsel on a wide range of labor issues such as union organizing, employee discipline, and contract interpretation and administration, among others. He also regularly conducts collective bargaining negotiations on behalf of clients and is often called upon to advise on the interpretation or application of collective bargaining agreements.
In the area of employment law, Mirrafati has successfully defended employers against a variety of lawsuits filed in federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including cases involving wage and hour issues, wrongful discharge, employment discrimination and retaliation, unfair competition and breach of contract.
“Kamran will provide sophisticated collective bargaining and compliance counseling and litigation services to our clients, who are increasingly seeking effective labor-management relations,” said Kevin Hyde, chair of Foley’s Labor & Employment Practice. “His experience advising companies in the many facets of labor and employment law will be a tremendous resource to our growing national practice.”
Representing clients in a variety of industries and sectors, Mirrafati also works with corporations to address employment issues associated with M&A transactions and advises human resource professionals on wage and hour compliance, employment agreements, leaves of absence, and personnel policies and procedures.
“Adding a practitioner of Kamran’s caliber is a strategic move to continue building our capabilities in California, which has long been a hotbed of labor and employment law activity and other emerging issues faced by companies,” said Thomas F. Carlucci, managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office.
Prior to joining Foley, Mirrafati was a partner in the Labor & Employment practice group at Seyfarth Shaw LLP.
