Foley Teams With Leading California Government Affairs Firm to Enhance Public Policy Capabilities
Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce a strategic alliance with Lang, Hansen, O’Malley and Miller (Lang Hansen), a highly regarded California government affairs firm located in Sacramento. The alliance with Lang Hansen, which specializes in comprehensive legislative and governmental affairs strategic planning, will enhance Foley’s public affairs services for clients in California.
“Teaming with Lang Hansen strengthens Foley’s public affairs capabilities in California, while providing Lang Hansen’s clients with support by Foley’s Federal Public Affairs Practice in Washington. There is a strong connection between California and federal legislative and regulatory actions and initiatives, and the Foley-Lang Hansen team will be able to coordinate state and federal public affairs and regulatory efforts in ways few other firms can,” said Former U.S. Congressman and California Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza, who leads Foley’s public affairs team in California, and co-chairs Foley’s Federal Public Affairs Practice.
The alliance with Lang Hansen boosts Foley’s services in the following ways:
- Legislative monitoring and intelligence on California issues impacting a broad range of industries and business interests
- Increased guidance through the California legislative and regulatory processes
- Customized briefings and consultations on political and legislative issues, including detailed assessments of state elections and state budget issues
- Legal representation that can be closely coordinated with supportive public affairs efforts
- Coordinated federal, California and multi-state public affairs representation, leveraging Foley’s public affairs practices in the Midwest, Florida, Washington and Sacramento
In conjunction with the new agreement, Foley has also moved its Sacramento office to 1121 L Street, Suite 1111, adjacent to the Lang Hansen office. The new location is directly across the street from the California State Capitol, underscoring Foley’s commitment to California public policy services, and providing clients with a convenient location when in Sacramento for legislative business.
Foley has offices throughout California, and has long had a presence in Sacramento, where it represents clients on California regulatory matters, principally health care. In recent years, Foley expanded its representation of clients to California public policy issues when Cardoza and Foley Public Affairs Director Jennifer Walsh both joined the firm in the last two years.
