Houston Business Journal Selects Rachel Steely as a 2017 Women Who Mean Business Honoree
Gardere partner Rachel Powitzky Steely has been named to the Houston Business Journal’s 2017 Women Who Mean Business list. She is one of only 70 women in Houston selected for the honor, and the only law firm lawyer in her recognition category, professional services.
In order to be named to the list, honorees must exhibit career achievement, contribution to company and city success, community involvement and leadership.
Steely, who is co-chair of the firm’s labor and employment practice, is recognized as one of the foremost trial lawyers in Texas specializing in employment law. She was selected as one of the top 20 female trial lawyers by Texas Lawyer magazine and the only labor and employment attorney to receive the honor. Steely has been recognized as a Texas “Super Lawyer” for more than 10 years in the specialty of employment litigation, and is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Steely and her fellow 2017 Women Who Mean Business honorees will be recognized at an awards reception Oct. 26 at Houston’s Marriott Marquis. Those interested in attending can register here.
