Of Counsel Michael H. Lappin recently spoke with HealthLeaders for its article, “Pivoting From The Pandemic: Hospitals Need To Fix Vulnerabilities, Pursue Opportunities,” about the vastly different landscape U.S. hospitals and health care systems face after a precedent setting year.
In light of continued financial stress facing hospitals and health systems, Lappin noted that there may be increased provider consolidation. A few reasons for consolidation among hospitals include “…geographic and revenue diversification, as well as technology and customer base acquisition,” and also scale.
