“There are also thousands of software companies that built viable businesses but have seen growth stall at various revenue levels,” said Lehot, who recently led a Foley team advising Mirantis in its acquisition by IREN, illustrating how software companies can find exits by pairing its technology with a buyer pursuing a faster-growing market.
“Many of these companies are trying to establish a proprietary data advantage and add AI capabilities that can restore a path to growth, while some may ultimately need to pursue strategic alternatives, including a sale,” he added.
