Carrie Hoffman Answers Key Labor and Employment Questions on Vaccine Mandates in the Hospitality Industry

On Dec. 6, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that all private sector employers will now be required to implement a COVID-19 vaccine mandate by Dec. 27. In a Q&A for Hospitality Tech, Carrie Hoffman answers key questions around what this mandate means for hospitality organizations. She also comments on other updates in the industry including mobile tipping and demands for higher minimum wage. As we move into 2022, Hoffman notes that “the biggest issue is the labor shortage, as well as the safety issue of employees being required to wear masks while guests are not.”
