Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Judith Waltz was quoted in the article, “Outlook 2022: New Year Brings Big Billing Changes, More Audits, Key Supreme Court Cases,” in the Report on Medicare Compliance, published by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).
In regards to health care organizations preparing to let go of COVID-19 waivers, she says that “we have to start thinking about the post-public health emergency (PHE) even if we don’t know when it will end.” The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) may declare the PHE is over “before clinically we can say there is an end to the pandemic.”
Waltz is the co-chair of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group and Health Care Industry Team.
