Jeffrey Kopp Comments on Upcoming EEO-1 Data Disclosure Deadline
Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Jeffrey Kopp is quoted in the Society for Human Resource Management article, “Objections to Disclosure of EEO-1 Data Due Sept. 19,” about the upcoming deadline for employers to object to the disclosure of their annual EEO-1 reports.
Employers with 100 or more employees or federal contractors with 50 or more employees are required by law to file these yearly reports that include a summary of employee demographic data like headcount, sex, and race or ethnicity.
While some employers choose to publicize demographic information to highlight their commitment to DEI endeavors, many employers do not publically release any demographic information.
Kopp said that many contractors believe that a public disclosure of their employee information “could put them at a competitive disadvantage.”
