Foley Represents Cortical Ventures as Investor in $17M Seed Funding Round for Immerok
Foley & Lardner LLP represented Cortical Ventures, an AI-focused venture capital firm, as an investor in the $17 million seed funding round for Immerok, developers of a serverless Apache Flink cloud platform for real-time stream processing. Cortical Ventures was joined by investors CUSP Capital, 468 Capital, and Essence VC, with participation from several angel investors.
Apache Flink is an open-source stream processing engine that powers many of the world’s largest real-time ecommerce, entertainment, and financial services systems. It enables data to be processed as it’s created and can be used to power data analytics, transaction processing, and artificial intelligence workloads in real time.
Immerok will use the funds to continue to build and launch its fully managed cloud service for Apache Flink. The service is available through an early access program on Amazon Web Services. Immerok plans to expand support to other cloud platforms in the future to make it more widely accessible.
The Foley team was led by Partner Louis Lehot and included Associate Alexander Ravski.
