Foley & Lardner LLP announced today its participation as a founding member of CancerX, a public-private partnership announced by The White House as a national accelerator to boost innovation in the fight against cancer as part of the reignited Cancer Moonshot. Foley is one of 91 founding members, and the only law firm in the group.
Co-hosted by Moffitt Cancer Center and Digital Medicine Society, alongside the Office for the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, CancerX convenes diverse stakeholders to fight cancer and revolutionize treatment through digital innovation. Founding members will help guide the strategic direction of CancerX’s research portfolio and projects.
President Biden reignited the Cancer Moonshot in 2022. The initiative aims to reduce the cancer death rate by 50 percent over the next 25 years and improve the experience of people and their families living with and surviving cancer. CancerX was announced earlier this year on the anniversary of the revived Cancer Moonshot.
Foley is proud to be among the leading organizations in this public-private partnership. Attorneys in the firm’s cross-disciplinary Health Care & Life Sciences Sector have extensive experience in oncology-related matters and are well-positioned to help advance digital innovation in cancer care.
