Foley & Lardner LLP partner Carrie Hoffman is quoted in the SHRM article, “NLRB Mandates Speedier Union Elections,” discussing the National Labor Relations Board recent issuance of a final rule that requires union elections to be held at the earliest date practicable, revoking a previous rule that set a mandatory wait time of at least 20 business days.
The rule, which takes effect on December 26, also states that disputes concerning individuals’ eligibility to vote in a union election do not need to be litigated or resolved prior to an election.
Hoffman said that “by removing delays in the process,” union elections will occur faster.
