Foley & Lardner LLP announced that it strengthened its Texas presence with the addition of a real estate team, and the group’s joining is featured in a Texas Lawyer article, “Foley & Lardner Adds 4-Lawyer Husch Blackwell Real Estate Team in Texas” and a Law360 article, “Foley & Lardner Adds Real Estate Team From Husch Blackwell.”
Foley chairman and CEO Daljit Doogal told Texas Lawyer the firm is expanding its real estate team in Texas because of the state’s growing economy. He said the group is “a good fit because they are collaborative and entrepreneurial, and have a good concentration in health care and renewable energy real estate projects.”
The incoming team includes partners Tyler Johnson and Sadie Fitzpatrick in Dallas, partner Kevin Garland in Houston, and of counsel Alexandra Jashinky in Austin. Johnson told Texas Lawyer that the “group works closely together and began recently to look for a new firm because their practice has grown nationally.” He continued, “Foley’s network of offices, including locations in Texas and California, is a good fit.”
Doogal told Law360 that the attorneys “all add unique skillsets to the firm that will be a great advantage for our clients.” Fitzpatrick commented that, “”My experience representing owners, developers, investors, tenants, and landlords through a variety of real estate projects is a natural fit and extension to Foley’s work in this area.”
Johnson wants to “add to the impressive breadth and depth of Foley’s real estate and renewable energy offerings” and Jashinsky said, “With my background structuring and negotiating leases and other real estate transactions within the health care sector, I was impressed with Foley’s full scope of services and strong offerings for clients in this space.”
“We can now leverage Foley’s expansive resources across the nation, and most importantly, in all of the country’s largest markets, to better assist our clients with their diverse and growing list of needs,” Garland said.
