Foley & Lardner LLP partner Louis Lehot discussed challenges for the venture investment community in the Crunchbase News article, “Venture Preview Part 1: M&A, IPOs And Political Shifts Prompt VC Optimism And Caution Entering 2025.”
“I don’t think it’s been written about enough how Silicon Valley has been with financing,” Lehot explained, highlighting that distributed to paid-in capital (DPI) – which has been limited given the recent lack of startups exiting – is always top of mind for investors.
“It’s been impossible for private equity and venture capital to get DPI,” he added.
