Chanley Howell Featured for Innovator of the Year Recognition
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Chanley Howell is featured in Daily Business Review for his recognition as an Innovator of the Year finalist at the Florida Legal Awards.
Howell described the various ways Foley is leading the way in legal innovation, including the firm’s AI-powered contract review system Foley Equipped and Foley Ignite, which offers turnkey document generation for startups.
“As Foley prioritizes servicing key sectors, we have identified trends in how emerging technologies have the potential to impact business today and in the future,” he told Daily Business Review. “The productivity of our team is evidenced in our understanding that these emerging trends affect and cross over multiple disciplines in several unique ways, making it imperative to connect and share our individual expertise and experience.”
Asked about how the legal profession can better adapt to the rapid pace of technological change, Howell pointed to artificial intelligence as something that “will transform the way people work, live, and play.”
“While generative AI has become the public face of the broader field, recent advances across the sector are already transforming such varied fields as legal services, pharmaceutical research, and supply chain management,” he added. “While it often seems timeliness is key to stay on trend with such innovations, it is imperative for law firms and those in the legal profession to perform ample analysis and due diligence before introducing these tools.”
