Jessica Lochmann Featured for Milwaukee Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award

Foley & Lardner LLP partner Jessica Lochmann is featured in Milwaukee Business Journal’s Women of Influence series for her leadership and contributions to Wisconsin’s business community.

Lochmann, profiled here, shared her work co-leading the Board Readiness Program, a multi-session program focused on educating executives on governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and emerging boardroom issues. “The result has been a stronger, more diverse pipeline of board-ready leaders in the region and increased awareness of governance excellence as a strategic business imperative,” Lochmann told Milwaukee Business Journal.

On career advice, she underscored the importance of authenticity, “My best mentors and supporters encouraged me to find confidence in who I am, not who I think I should be.” Lochmann added, “It turns out that I needed to forge my own path and my own style to feel comfortable and confident in my skills, and for others around me to share that confidence in return.”

“Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and take on projects, opportunities, and assignments that are new to you,” she emphasized. “The only way to learn is to try, ask questions, seek support when needed, and develop those new ‘muscles.’”

Looking ahead, Lochmann concluded, “We need to make sure that Milwaukee has enough professional jobs for those students coming out of college, grad school, and law school, and that this remains a city where younger professionals want to build a career, family, and life.”
