Leading to the biggest data protection shake up in the last 30 years, the European Commission and the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a draft of the new EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, set to replace the invalidated Safe Harbor framework.

In addition, the European Council, European Parliament, and European Commission reached agreement on a new set of data protection regulations, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Privacy Shield and GDPR will likely influence data protection for the next 30 years.

To learn more about these regulations and the effects they will have on your company, please join Foley Partner Aaron Tantleff for the first in a continuing web conference series on legal issues concerning businesses engaged in European-U.S. commerce.

Topics will include:

  • Steps organizations should begin implementing now in order to prepare for the new EU data protection regulations
  • The potential impact these new data regulations will have on how organizations collect, process, transfer, share, and store information
  • How enforcement will be handled in various jurisdictions
  • And much more
