Anum Amin works closely with her clients to efficiently resolve complex commercial and consumer disputes, with a focus on protecting business objectives and mitigating litigation risk. She is a senior associate in Foley & Lardner LLP’s Litigation Department who represents a wide range of clients, including manufacturers and distributors of commercial and consumer products, health care providers, financial institutions, and insurance brokers. She has litigated high-stakes commercial disputes, class actions, unfair competition and false advertising matters, privacy and cybersecurity disputes, and business tort and breach-of-contract matters. She has extensive experience practicing in California state and federal courts, as well as in private arbitration.
Anum brings a strategic, disciplined approach to litigation execution. She has taken and defended depositions of senior executives and corporate witnesses, drafted and argued successful motions to dismiss (including anti-SLAPP), and prevailed on key discovery motions that have positioned cases for early dismissal or leveraged settlement. She has second-chaired trial and arbitration proceedings, conducted direct and cross examinations of key fact witnesses, and argued contested pre-trial and evidentiary motions including motions in limine, motions to strike, and disputes over exhibit admissibility and deposition designations.
Anum also serves in leadership roles within the firm. She served as the Los Angeles office’s Summer Program Coordinator for Foley’s 2022 summer associate class and currently serves as the Los Angeles office liaison for Foley’s Racial Justice and Equity Practice Group. Anum is committed to pro bono work and has represented clients in landlord-tenant disputes as well as guardianship and adoption proceedings. She has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for multiple consecutive years.
