Overview Experience Events Intelligence Sophie Lignier Of Counsel slignier foley.com Download vCard Sophie Lignier is of counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm's Government & Public Policy, Antitrust, and International Practices. She practices European Union (EU) law with a focus on regulatory issues impacting both European and non-European companies doing business in the EU. She also provides general EU advice and monitors developing regulatory legislation in areas of particular interest to clients, including internal market, trade, environmental and data privacy law. Ms. Lignier has extensive knowledge of European law from experiences in the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for the European Commission on the regional and local implications of the EU economic policy, including enterprise policy, competition and taxation, and the internal market. Ms. Lignier also worked for SJ Berwin & Co, a UK law firm where she focused on a wide range of issues in the fields of EU Competition and International Trade law. Ms. Lignier is also a member of the Energy Industry Team, working with the team on issues involving the renewable and other energy sectors in Europe. Ms. Lignier updated the section of the Annual Review of Antitrust Law Developments concerning EU Antitrust Developments (2017), and she sat on an online Distribution Law panel, focusing on EU developments, at the French Bar Antitrust Meeting on E-Commerce (November 1, 2017).
