Foley Represents Hanwha Impact Partners in $35 Million Series B Funding for CATALOG
Foley & Lardner LLP represented Hanwha Impact Partners as lead investor in the $35 million Series B funding round for CATALOG, the world’s leader in automated DNA-based digital data storage.
Founded in 2016 by MIT scientists, CATALOG has become the first company to develop a commercially viable DNA-based solution to this problem. This funding will spur the development of a computing platform where both data management and computation occur through the manipulation of synthetic DNA. In addition, the funding will be used to help create an ecosystem of collaborators, partners, and users of DNA-based computing.
Hanwha Impact Partners, a venture capital arm of the Hanwha Group, seeks to create a future in which humans and nature, reality and the virtual world all coexist, supported by innovative convergent technologies in several sectors, including the energy transition, life sciences, and digital and data technologies. They invest in forward-looking convergence technologies, such as biotechnology, AI, and next-generation computing.
The Foley team was led by partner Louis Lehot.
