Foley & Lardner’s Miami office had a lot to celebrate at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Youth of the Year Award Ceremony held on March 4, 2026.

Club kid Sebastian Garcia, who interned in the firm’s Miami office in 2023, placed first and earned a $10,000 scholarship toward his future education. He will now represent BGC Miami-Dade at Florida’s statewide Youth of the Year competition in April. Our entire Miami office is so proud of Sebastian’s hard work and success.

During his acceptance speech, Sebastian recognized Foley for providing his first professional office experience, an opportunity that he said helped shape his confidence and leadership skills. Sebastian’s achievement is a powerful example of confidence, preparation, and perseverance paying off. Moments like this highlight the impact of investing in young leaders and giving them opportunities to shine.

Foley is thrilled to be the first law firm to partner with BGCA on a national scale, supporting the organization’s national youth leadership development strategy through programs and initiatives that open doors for the next generation to thrive.

Our partnership, now in its fifth year, is driven by the engagement of our attorneys and business professionals who create unforgettable experiences for youth, engaging in activities at both local Clubs and in our offices that blend leadership, skill-building, advocacy, and community engagement.
Last year, our Miami office received the “From the Heart” Award from BGC Miami-Dade in recognition of the firm’s “remarkable support of and commitment to the organization’s mission.”
All the firm’s 25 North American offices have engaged with local Clubs on programs and initiatives that are responsive to the Clubs’ needs in that community — with a focus on activating the potential of kids and building more inclusive and equitable futures. Click here to learn more.
