Foley Announces Jennifer Walsh and Katie Schoettler as New Federal Lobbying Team Leadership
Jennifer Walsh Named Chair; Katie Schoettler Named Vice Chair
Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce new leadership appointments for its Federal Lobbying team within the firm’s Government Solutions Practice Group, naming public affairs directors Jennifer Walsh as chair and Katie Schoettler as vice chair.
The leadership appointments come as Foley’s Federal Lobbying team continues to build on strong momentum and national recognition, with the firm recently recognized by Bloomberg Government for the seventh consecutive year on its annual Top Lobbying Firms list. Additionally, Walsh and Schoettler have been recognized for multiple years on The Hill’s annual list of Top Lobbyists.
Walsh brings extensive government affairs experience, including private-sector leadership as vice president for federal government affairs at a top 20 Fortune 500 health care company. Over the course of her career, she has advanced key issues before the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and the Administration, including as chief of staff to a member of Congress, chief advisor and principal strategist on legislative and political matters, and as a liaison to two presidential administrations. Prior to her federal roles, Walsh served as Chief of Staff in the California Legislature.
“I’m honored to step into this leadership role and look forward to partnering with Katie as we build on the team’s strong track record,” said Walsh, chair of Foley’s Federal Lobbying team. “Foley has built an exceptional federal lobbying practice that helps our clients navigate complex policy challenges and seize strategic opportunities in Washington and beyond, and I am excited to build on our momentum and continue delivering the advocacy, insight, and results our clients count on.”
Schoettler brings deep experience in political strategy, legislative policy and strategic communications, with significant wins across trade and tariff policy, as well as energy and water issues. Before joining Foley, Schoettler spent over six years on Capitol Hill working in both chambers of Congress, most recently serving as senior advisor to U.S. Senator Steve Daines of Montana.
Based in Washington, D.C., Walsh and Schoettler lead a bipartisan federal lobbying team that provides advocacy and strategic guidance to clients navigating legislative, regulatory, political, and communications challenges before the federal government.
