Michelle Moran is an associate and intellectual property litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the IP Litigation Practice.
Prior to joining Foley, Ms. Moran served as group counsel for Johnson Controls, Inc., where she advised internal clients on patent, trademark, and infringement litigation matters and provided guidance on technology, services, and nondisclosure agreements.
Ms. Moran earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School (J.D., 2009). While at school, she worked as a research assistant at Marquette University Law School and as an intellectual property law clerk with Johnson Controls, Inc. She also graduated from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management (M.B.A., 1987) and studied industrial engineering at Northwestern University (B.S., 1983).

Ms. Moran is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, Eastern District of Wisconsin, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Northern District of Illinois, and the Eastern District of Texas. She is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association, and the Wisconsin Bar.
Ms. Moran is also a member of several community organizations. She served as a board member for The Women’s Center in Waukesha (1999-2006) and as board president (2005). She has also served on the board of the Spring City Soccer Club and the executive committee of The Friends of The Emily Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
