Nationally Recognized IP Attorney Brings Extensive Experience in Electronics, Optics and Clean Technology.
Foley announced today that Joseph Teja Jr. has joined the firm as a partner in the Boston office, working with the Intellectual Property Department in the Electronics Practice and with the Emerging Technologies Industry Team. Prior to joining Foley, he was co-chair of the Cleantech practice at Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C.
Teja has significant experience in counseling clients with substantial and complex portfolios on their IP protection strategies. His practice is primarily focused on patent counseling and litigation work in the areas of electrical engineering, computer science, physics and clean energy. Teja routinely represents clients in a variety of technical areas including solar energy-related technologies and photovoltaics, flexible electronics, biomedical imaging, digital image sensors, telecommunications, complex event processing, GPS technology and intelligent instrumentation, energy demand management, and energy-efficient lighting technologies. Additionally, he has a wealth of experience in assisting academic institutions in protecting their IP assets.

Additional areas in which Teja has technical experience are optoelectronic devices and optical communications. Prior to law school, Teja spent over 10 years as a researcher and engineer in electronics and optics. He previously served as an electrical engineer with Rheometrics Incorporated and went on to perform research at Hoechst Celanese Corp.
