Gardere's Chris Converse Honored With M&A Advisor's 40 Under 40 Recognition Award
Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP congratulates Partner Chris Converse on his selection to the M&A Advisor's 40 Under 40 list of legal advisors. Mr. Converse is chair of the Firm's Securities and Corporate Governance Team and a member of the Private Equity Industry Team.
"This award is a significant honor and testament to the very high level of service that Chris – along with the rest of Gardere's mergers and acquisitions team – brings to the table for our clients," says Gardere Chair Holland N. O'Neil. "As an up-and-coming leader at the Firm, Chris has shepherded several high-profile transactions and earned the trust and respect of many of the industry's most influential players. This recognition is well-deserved."
Now in its fifth year, the 40 Under 40 Recognition Awards celebrate emerging leaders in M&A and financing, as well as turnaround professionals, who have achieved significant success while still under the age of 40. Mr. Converse was singled out for this prestigious award based on his reputation as one of the country's top M&A professionals. He has more than 14 years of experience providing advice in mergers and acquisitions and other areas to private equity and corporate investors and to other businesses throughout the U.S.
Mr. Converse joined Gardere in 2000 following his graduation from the University of Virginia School of Law and was admitted into partnership at the Firm in 2008. His practice involves all areas of corporate law, primarily focusing on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, financings, and public and private offerings of debt and equity. He represents clients in a variety of industries such as information technology services, health care, construction, franchising, logistics, manufacturing and restaurants, including both private equity sponsored portfolio companies and family-owned businesses.
Some of Mr. Converse's prominent representative matters include: representation of a private equity firm in its acquisition earlier this year of an international supplement manufacturer; representation of a medical software company in its sale last year to a global information services company; and representation of a private equity sponsored technology solutions company in 2012 in its formation and acquisition activities, which created the nation's largest document exchange provider for the legal and judicial communities.
Mr. Converse will be honored at a black-tie awards gala at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan on June 24, in conjunction with the 2014 Emerging Leaders Summit. A complete list of this year's award recipients can be found here.
