Foley Team Receives ‘Litigator of the Week’ Shout Out for Trial Victory in Bankruptcy Case

Foley & Lardner LLP partners Rajiv Dharnidharka, Steven Lockhart, Mark Moore, Holland O’Neil, and Robert Slovak received a shout out in The Am Law Litigation Daily column, “Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout Outs,’ for their trial victory on behalf of Trinity Broadcasting of Texas, Inc. in a challenge to the Chapter 11 filing by Merit Street Media, a startup media network backed by television psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw. 

The article states, “After a bench trial last month, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Scott Everett in Dallas converted Merit Street’s Chapter 11 case to a Chapter 7 liquidation, finding that McGraw destroyed key text messages from the run-up to the bankruptcy filing concerning his plans to start a new network and cut out Merit Street’s creditors, then lied about it under oath.”
