Julia R. Baehl

Associate

Julia R. Baehl is a member of the firm’s Mechanical and Electromechanical Technology practice group, where she counsels clients on a broad spectrum of legal matters, with a particular focus on patent prosecution and intellectual property strategy.

Prior to pursuing her legal career, Julia spent six years in the oil and gas industry, designing downhole barriers for wells across Colorado, Wyoming, and Alaska.  Her engineering background provides her with a strong technical foundation in materials science, applied mechanics, and energy production—expertise that informs and enhances her legal practice.

While in law school, Julia gained valuable in-house experience at a renewable energy company, where she reviewed and drafted contracts, supported the restructuring of subsidiary entities, and developed an international data privacy policy.  Before joining Foley, Julia served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable David R. Stras of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
