Associate

Troy Tessem is an experienced litigator in complex commercial cases, class actions, and white-collar defense matters. He has successfully obtained favorable outcomes for Fortune 500 companies, mid-size corporations, and individuals in arbitration and in state, federal, and appellate courts.

Troy has advised clients across a diverse range of business disputes – including breach of contract, fraud, international trade and tariffs, antitrust actions, class actions and insurance claims. He also litigates disputes involving equal protection violations and First Amendment retaliation claims. In his labor and employment work, Troy handles disputes concerning breach of contract, discrimination, wrongful termination, and other civil rights claims.

Prior to Foley, Troy contributed to teams that secured multimillion-dollar settlements — including homeowners affected by wildfire damages and a family-owned business that encountered discrimination in a government contract bid process.

During law school, Troy served as a judicial extern to the Honorable André Birotte Jr. at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and to Chief Justice Sam Rugege of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Rwanda.
