Travis K. Jang‑Busby advises companies and management on a wide range of matters, including labor, employment, and commercial disputes. His practice covers emerging companies to Fortune 50 organizations in a host of industries, including health care, defense, manufacturing, and biotech. His practice centers on navigating complex employment and commercial challenges, combining strategic guidance with deep experience managing high‑stakes litigation.
Travis guides clients through all phases of litigation, from early case assessment and dispositive motion practice through mediation, arbitration, and trial. He is known for developing practical, data-driven strategies to assess exposure and drive optimal resolution.
Travis regularly represents businesses in class and representative actions in California and across the country, with a significant focus on wage‑hour matters, such as those brought under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), the California Labor Code, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). His expertise also includes discrimination claims, administrative investigations, and other employment-related disputes.
Travis also maintains an active commercial litigation practice, representing companies in a range of business disputes, including trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and contract-related claims. He frequently handles matters that sit at the intersection of employment and commercial law, particularly where employee mobility, restrictive covenants, and competitive conduct are at issue.
Additionally, Travis has developed a significant practice defending companies against claims brought under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and related statutes. He advises clients on litigation risk and compliance strategies involving website technologies, session replay tools, and tracking pixels, and has extensive experience navigating the procedural and strategic considerations unique to high-volume CIPA claims and arbitrations.
In addition to his litigation practice, Travis serves as a trusted advisor to companies on day-to-day employment matters and long-term risk mitigation. He regularly counsels employers on compliance with evolving wage-and-hour laws, workplace policies, employee classification, and reductions in force, with a focus on aligning legal strategy with business objectives.
