Foley & Lardner LLP is proud to have guided the Tampa Bay Rays in connection with the approved agreement advancing the club’s new ballpark and mixed-use destination district in Tampa, Florida. The agreement marks a historic milestone for the franchise, the city, and the broader Tampa Bay region.
The new ballpark will anchor a landmark destination neighborhood, blending baseball and culture into a walkable, retail-rich community hub. Featuring a mixed-use entertainment district located near some of Tampa’s most iconic sports venues, the project is a transformative investment in the region’s future — bringing new energy, economic activity, jobs, and community benefits to Tampa Bay.
The project received key governmental approvals this week, with both the Tampa City Council and Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners voting to approve the agreement. Together, these approvals represent a pivotal step in securing the long-term future of Major League Baseball in Tampa Bay and advancing a generational project designed to deliver lasting benefits for the region.
